The RunStrong Year End Family Celebration and Fun Run was great way to end the 2023-24 Year!6/19/2024
The day included certificates presented to outstanding runners at each of the Runstrong school sites, heartfelt speeches from student and coaches and the first ever RunStrong “Legacy Medal” given to all graduating 8th graders. Thanks to everyone for making this year an incredible success. Have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you in the fall!
Kiara began participating in the RunStrong Program as a 6th grader at Mendez Fundamental school after hearing about the program from her older brother. Kiara was a focused, disciplined runner during her three years with Runstrong and now runs 5k races on a regular basis. In fact, the program introduced her to the joys of running and to the benefits of seeing her hard work and training pay off in faster times race after race.

 SANTA ANA, CA – In an effort to combat the effects of social isolation and mitigate the long term impact to youth physical and mental health, the Kevin Armstrong M.D. Memorial Sports Foundation has launched a new program - GO F.A.R. (Fun, Active Running), a socially distanced program designed to inspire students to recommit to physical activity. GO F.A.R. encourages students to join a running app which tracks their progress and records their distance. The Foundation will give prizes to the students who go the farthest as well as provide a “goodie” bag for all participants including a T-Shirt, mask, healthy snacks & other items designed to inspire healthy activity and good mental health.
Greetings golfers and supporters. Every day seems to bring something new and challenging to each of us. To protect our mutual health and wellness, we have postponed our Annual Golf Tournament. While this is a huge disappointment, we are working with Tustin Ranch Golf Course to reschedule the tournament. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, teams of golfers and players who support us. With your help, we have impacted the lives of over 13,000 students in the Santa Ana Unified School District, which recently announced school closures through Fall 2020. School attendance is essential to the educational, social, physical and emotional well being of students in this community, where many families live at or below the poverty level. The next few months will be devastating. These are challenging times and it is our hope that, with your support, we will return to our work supporting young athletes in the community by providing them with athletic opportunities that focus on healthy lifestyles by encouraging them to stay socially engaged and physically active.

Santa Ana — The Irvine Public School Foundation awarded Dr. Kevin L. Armstrong the Spirit of Excellence Award in Leadership at their annual Gala on September 27, 2014. We would like to thank them for this wonderful honor. In addition, they named an annual scholarship in Kevin's name in partnership with NFL Hall of Famer, Warren Moon and his company, Sports 1 Marketing. This is a beautiful tribute to Kevin and we thank all of you for helping us to keep his memory and legacy alive, especially the Board members of the Kevin Armstrong MD Memorial Sports Foundation and the coaches, volunteers, donors and sponsors who support the work that we do for the student athletes in Santa Ana.
